RECOMMENDED BIBLICAL FICTION for YEAR THREE STUDENTS: The Restoration - Chronicles Series by Lynn Austin
Texts for the Four-Year Bible School
Unlike many other adult study offerings, this program covers the whole of the Bible during the course of four years. The main focus of study is the Bible text itself rather than books about the Bible. Nothing can replace your own familiarity with the biblical text as the core of your study. We recommend the following three translations—available in various bindings, sizes, and costs—as your primary text:
The New American Bible Revised (NABRE), 2011
The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB), 1985
Revised Standard Version (RSV), or New Revised Standard Version (NRSV),
in one of many annotated editions (that is, “with notes”),
and including the Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical Books.
Having said that, throughout the years of study we aim to help you build a personal bible library. The following texts may be borrowed from students who have already completed the program, can be ordered on your own, or will be ordered for you with each year’s registration.

Catholic Biblical School, Year One—Old Testament Foundations, Revised (Paulist)
